Background:

Formerly a on-air broadcast television meteorologist, Rachel Ann, has since turned her eye for weather into a career in graphic layouts for CNN Weather and landscape photography. Rachel was born to a military family, so traveling has been a part of her life from the start. Born at a Navy Base in Stratford, New Jersey, her family soon there after took stations in Chicago and then Charleston. She never forgot the early days of traveling and continues to capture her adventures through her camera's lens.

ARTIST STATEMENT:
The unique combination of art and science has always been of particular interest to me. At some point in our recent history the artist and the scientist have been pitted against each other. But if we look back not so long ago, we can see that the artist and the scientist share similar hearts of exploration and creativity.

I love that photography bridges that gap between the art (composition) and science (light/exposure).
